St Maxime  is at the mouth of the gulf of Saint Tropez, a gulf with wild rocky inlets and long stretches of sandy beaches, rarely found on the Côte d’Azur. It faces south and  sheltered from the winds by the  Maures Mountains.

However, don't restrict yourself just to this area -Var has 300 km of shoreline on the Mediterranean sea, beautiful sandy beaches, wild cliffs plunging straight into the sea and balmy protected islands  - lles d'Hyères. Then there are the Maures and Esterel mountain ranges and the dramatic Gorges du Verdon to explore.

Visit the well known beach resorts such as St Tropez, St Raphael,  Bandol, le Lavandou, St Cyr, and the marina towns of Port-Grimaud and  Cogolin.
